...Now, before you jump into conclusions, before you start saying "Hey, this guy is gone bananas! Who does he think he is, considering his piece of e-junk to be our home?" you better think twice! 'Cause I ain't talking about nobody's home here, just my so called HOME-page.
Did you by any chance ever wonder about the etymology of this word? What are its dictionary origins? I bet you have not and I betcha don't care. Well dudes, ain't I got news for ya? I don't know and I don't care either, but... I am in desperate need for ideas regarding the intro of this 3rd issue of e-NALLAX, so I thought I could just play with words, your nervous system, whatever....
To achieve just that:
a. I chose to write the american way, with words and phrases that clearly indicate the degradation of english language by the half illiterate population of certain other countries** (wow, I can feel half of you holding your bellies and half of you wanting to bring me down).
b. I tried to deeply understand the relationship of the latin word "HOMO", meaning man or human being, with the english term "HOME" and eventually the expression "HOME-page".
c. Unfortunately it seems I have taken the wrong path, because despite my initial intentions (I am coming back to normal english here) I ended up with words and lectic forms describing certain kinds of people, such as HOMO SAPIENS (not talking about Georgey Walker Bush here), HOMO ERECTUS (depends on the lady) or HOMO-SEXUAL (you perverts, I only mean a sexually active human being!).
Actually that is the problem with the english language sometimes. It obviously mixes up its multiple origins, creating an etymologic chaos... Because HOMO means "human being", coming from latin, but means "same" coming from the greek word "omoios". Which still leaves the question of the origin of the word "Home" and eventually "Home-page" unanswered.
Nomatter what I am concluding this introduction with two undisputed facts. The first fact is that I do not know the answer to the initial question of this riddle. The second fact is I managed to fill my Home-page without even trying. I just hope my logical and dictionary acrobatics have not turned you Home-sick but gay!! (No, no, no!!! You have obviously misunderstood me again... By "gay" I mean merry, joyous, smiling, hilarious etc. etc. etc.......)
